1. Overview

Y905-G is a 4G remote audible-visual alarm that starts and stops its local alarm in response to network commands. It combines 4G connectivity and local audible-visual indication in one terminal. Y905 is available only as the Y905-G 4G model; there are no Wi-Fi or RJ45 Ethernet versions.

After the device connects to its network, a platform, server, host application, or configured remote-control path can send an alarm-on or alarm-off command. Y905 then starts or stops the local audible-visual alarm. Typical uses include remote equipment-fault indication, pump-room and equipment-room alarms, and warning at unattended sites.

Y905 differs from Y901 and Y902. It receives remote network commands; it does not use their local multi-node push-button trigger architecture.

Operating Principle

  • The device connects through 4G and maintains communication with the configured server or platform.
  • A remote platform, host system, or control application sends an alarm-on command.
  • Y905 activates the local audible-visual alarm.
  • A subsequent alarm-off command stops the local alarm.
  • Platform logic can issue commands from a schedule, condition, or manual operator action when that logic is included in the project.

Typical Applications

  • Remote alarm indication in unattended equipment rooms, pump rooms, and distribution rooms
  • Warning at construction sites, warehouses, and temporary stations
  • Remote linkage from equipment faults, limit violations, or abnormal operating conditions
  • Alarm endpoints controlled by a cloud platform, edge gateway, or network command

6. Installation and Use

Installation

  1. Install the unit where personnel can see and hear the alarm.
  2. Keep the 4G antenna away from metal shielding and strong interference.
  3. Size the power supply for simultaneous network communication and alarm operation.
  4. If mounted inside another cabinet or enclosure, provide adequate signal clearance and thermal space.
  5. Verify network registration, communication accessories, and upstream connectivity after installation.

Commissioning

  1. Configure the network and upstream platform or server before use.
  2. Test the complete remote alarm-on and alarm-off sequence before service.
  3. If the project uses platform linkage rules, test reconnection and command behavior after a network interruption.
  4. Use Y905 for remote alarming and notification. Do not use it as a hard real-time safety interlock.

7. Important Notes

  1. Control purpose: Y905 receives remote commands to start and stop a local audible-visual alarm.
  2. Network dependency: Remote control requires the device, network, upstream service, and command path to be available.
  3. Communication version: Y905-G uses 4G. Y905 has no Wi-Fi or RJ45 Ethernet version.
  4. Architecture boundary: Y905 is a network-command alarm, not a Y901/Y902 local push-button linkage node.
  5. Protocol boundary: Confirm the required server, protocol, command format, security, and joint testing before ordering or integration.
  6. Safety boundary: Y905 supports auxiliary alarming and personnel notification. It must not serve as the only emergency-stop, life-safety, or hard real-time safety circuit.
  7. Delivered configuration: Confirm the enclosure, mounting, ingress protection, and structural details from the shipped product documents.
