1. Overview
The Y401WG-L is a point-to-point wireless Wiegand module for extending access-control signals over an RF link. A functional link uses a matched pair: one module connects to a Wiegand card reader, keypad reader, fingerprint reader, or facial-recognition terminal; the other connects to the Wiegand interface on an access-control controller.
The module carries the reader's D0 and D1 signals to the remote controller. It also provides two optional bidirectional I/O channels for compatible reader feedback and exit-button functions. The two modules use the same hardware and are not assigned permanent transmitter or receiver roles. The Y401WG-L does not replace a door controller, lock power supply, or lock-control system.
The paired modules transfer auxiliary I/O signals in both directions: either end can receive an input signal for the other end to output. These are low-current signal interfaces; check electrical compatibility before connecting external equipment.

Y401WG-L is intended for indoor use. Confirm environmental and electrical compatibility for the installation before connecting equipment.
5. Interfaces and Signals
Use the labels printed on the module when wiring. The module provides the following signal connections:
| Label | Function |
|---|---|
| +12V | Module power input |
| D0 | Wiegand data line 0 |
| D1 | Wiegand data line 1 |
| GND | Power and signal reference |
| IO1 | Auxiliary bidirectional I/O; used for buzzer or exit-button examples |
| IO2 | Auxiliary bidirectional I/O; used for LED feedback examples |
| USB-C | Virtual serial port for channel configuration and firmware work |
| SMA | Wireless antenna connection |
Before connecting equipment whose compatibility has not been confirmed, check the D0/D1 electrical requirements and the auxiliary I/O output type, input/output behavior, and interface compatibility with YenGear.
6. Installation and Wiring
See the user manual for reader-side, controller-side, auxiliary-I/O, and power connections. Shared supplies must meet both the module and the connected equipment ratings.
7. Channel Configuration
The modules automatically recognize Wiegand endpoints; both require the same wireless channel. Use the configuration commands and response examples in the user manual.
8. Important Notes
- Range figures assume an unobstructed line of sight. Walls, doors, metal structures, interference, and antenna placement affect the installed link.
- The module transfers signals; the access-control controller makes access decisions and controls the lock. Retain the required local exit and safety-release path.
- Install indoors, away from rain, condensation, and washdown. Firmware updates and custom functions require the supplied version's package and procedure.
